Job Summary- Direct Support Professional
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, or other challenges. DSPs play a critical role in promoting independence, personal growth, and an enhanced quality of life for the individuals we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and assistance with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and mobility support.
- Assist individuals in achieving their personal goals and participating in community activities.
- Monitor and document progress, behaviors, and health changes, and report concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Administer medications and provide basic healthcare support as needed, following organizational and regulatory guidelines.
- Implement individual service or care plans and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
- Encourage and facilitate the development of social and communication skills.
- Support individuals in managing household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
- Transport individuals to appointments, recreational activities, and other community events (Valid Driver’s License and Abstract with more than 5 points required).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 or older
- Complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks and Central Registry checks
- Previous experience as a DSP or in a similar caregiving role is preferred but not required.
- Must pass Personnel checks including background, drug, and Child Abuse checks
- Valid driver’s license and Abstract (not to exceed 5 points).
- Must complete a series of trainings
